Comcast has replaced their free security suite offer from MacAfee with the rival Norton Security Suite. Comcast customers can now download the Norton Security Suite for free by visiting Comcast’s site.

Norton Power Eraser is a free virus removal tool that targets and destroys threats to your computer. If you think your computer is infected, we recommend that you download and run Norton Power Eraser. At the moment, I cannot see the scan option with Norton for my usb drive. Need to check it. However, there is another way you can do it. Open the Norton product Click Settings In the Computer Settings window, next to Computer Scans, click Configure. Norton Free Scan And Removal

This has been going on for years..Third Party Software installation programs (Adobe Shockwave is most likely the culprit) install the stand alone Norton Security Scanner and add events to the Windows task scheduler and the program cannot be removed/uninstalled by any normal Windows or Norton uninstall method (if somehow removed it 'magically' reappears after the next reboot).
Norton needs to provide a method to remove this program, or prevent it's installation (especially when the PC already has a Norton Product installed..in my case Norton Security). I shouldn't have to download and install another third party software (such as Revo Uninstaller), and then go searching for Task Scheduler and registry entries to finally rid my PC of this plague!!
